Take the items from the “Give away” pile and, if time allows, bring them to a recycling center and/or ask your friends and relatives to come over to choose anything they would like. You can also arrange for a local charity to come to pick up the rest of your items.

Just make sure:

Furniture pieces are not too heavy to carry and lift.
There are no fragile items left inside the furniture
To prevent items from shifting place – use foam sheets, crumpled newspaper, and other packing supplies to fill empty spaces in furniture
Secure doors of dresses, so they do not accidentally open during the transportation
Wrap the drawers in plastic wrap to keep their contents safely in place

Pack books in a suitcase. Packing your books in a suitcase will not only allow you to move them quickly, but you will also help you avoid straining your back.

Pack similar items together, this will help you remain organized when unpacking. Also, pack an article that has multiple components in the same box to avoid losing any parts.

Use Ziploc bags to pack smaller items, organizing smaller pieces can take a lot of time. To avoid wasting time pack all your smaller items in ziploc bags. This will not only save you time, but will prevent you from losing them.
