Before joining MovingWaldo as our Lead Moving Expert, Mathieu worked at AMJ Campbell, one of the oldest and largest moving companies in Canada. Over the years, he encountered a wide range of moving challenges and obstacles, shaping him into a highly knowledgeable booking agent. His 5 years of experience in the industry has given him a deep understanding of the moving process, whether it’s a simple local move or a logistically complex long-distance relocation.

Beyond his expertise, Mathieu has built a strong network of moving professionals, including connections with the country’s largest Van Lines. Today at MovingWaldo, he oversees long-distance moves across Canada and to the United States. His in-depth knowledge ensures that every client receives the best possible service.

In addition to his experience, Mathieu has undergone extensive training and accreditation. He is Canadian Tariff Certified and Atlas Van Lines Certified. These credentials make him an invaluable resource for planning large and complex moves. His personalized approach guarantees that no detail is overlooked, ensuring every move goes smoothly.

Thanks to his expertise, Mathieu has also taken on a managerial role, leading and coaching our booking agent team. He is dedicated to inspiring, motivating, and sharing his knowledge to help the team excel at estimating and planning moves for all of our clients.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Being able to meet and help families all over North America find reliable and trustworthy vendors with empathy and compassion.

What’s one thing you’ve learned since joining MovingWaldo?

I’ve learned that a career isn’t stressful when you surround yourself with the right people.

What’s the most interesting problem you’ve solved at work and how did you do it?

One of the most interesting problems I’ve solved at work was when we faced a significant drop in customer satisfaction due to delays in our vendors’ service delivery. Our team had to quickly identify the root cause and come up with a solution that addressed the issue without compromising the quality of our service.

What trends have you noticed in the moving industry recently?

It has become more and more competitive with a ton of fly-by-night companies trying to maximize profit and dismiss quality.

What is the number one thing people forget when planning a move?

In my opinion, it’s to plan properly. People often get flustered and overwhelmed and do not create a checklist of things to be accomplished for everything to go smoothly.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve come across in a cross-country move and how did you solve it?

Weight overages are always a concern in cross-country moves and sometimes there is only a certain amount of volume that the vendor is capable of holding based on the trip. We have had to adapt in real time to find a solution for our client that ultimately led to 100% satisfaction.
